Donate IT to Clywedog: Access for all

Category : Events

During the first COVID-19 lockdown, thousands of school children didn’t have internet access or the laptops needed to keep up with home learning.

This digital divide may be growing, but together we can make sure no child is left behind. Here’s how you can help:

How your donations help

Our aim is to provide devices to our students by recycling devices donated by the community. Every donated device first goes through a data cleansing process. Then we load an app called CloudReady by Neverware onto the laptop. This software emulates the functionality of a Chromebook.  It’s a challenging target to ensure all students have access to a suitable device for distance learning, so we really need your support.

Data Wiping

Don’t worry if there is any data on your donated devices. We fully share your concern to protect the confidentiality and security of your data from the point of collection onwards.  We will clean the data off any donated devices.

Outstanding effort from our Year 7 students at the Wales Climate and Nature Youth Festival. There will be more opportunities for the school to get involved with from September.
