Non-Uniform Day for Evan – 2nd March 2018

Category : Events

“Evan was a pupil at Ysgol Clywedog, who passed away peacefully in his sleep in 2012.  He was just 12 years old.  There were no warning signs, he was just taken away from us much too early.  Hope House Hospice have been a great support and comfort to us, helping us to manage and cope with our bereavement.  By way of a thank you to Hope House and to help them continue with the great work they do, I try to do as much fundraising for them as I can.  Each year I organise a ‘big’ fundraiser and so far have raised over £11,000.”   – Jane, Evan’s mum

This year a number of Jane’s closest friends along with Evan’s sister Katie, and some of her friends’, are all helping her to organise an event in memory of Evan, who would have been 18 on 19th August, 2018.  It will be a celebration of Evan’s birthday which will take place on Friday 17th August 2018.  A number of fundraising events have been planned before August including the Non Uniform Day at Ysgol Clywedog.   All money raised will be donated to Hope House.

Outstanding effort from our Year 7 students at the Wales Climate and Nature Youth Festival. There will be more opportunities for the school to get involved with from September.
