Dear Parent/Carer,

September 2021 Applications for Secondary School

As your child approaches the end of their time at primary school, choosing the right secondary school is incredibly important. Normally during this half term you would have the opportunity to visit secondary schools as part of a series of Open Evenings.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hold our open evening in the usual way this year. We will, however, be publishing a virtual open evening for prospective students and parents. Information about the Virtual Open Evening will be published on our transition site (Available Wednesday onwards).

Over the last few years Ysgol Clywedog has made significant improvements in many areas of the school and as a whole school we have that commitment to continue improving to ‘Be the Best’.

Applications for September 2021 are now open through the Wrexham Council’s online school application portal:

The deadline for applications is 6th November 2020. Please note our intake number has reduced this year, so get your application in early.

Please contact the school if you have specific questions that are not addressed via our website. We have set up a specific email address for the Open Evening events

Parents of students with additional learning needs may contact our ALNCo for an informal discussion.

Yours sincerely

Mr Matt Vickery

Outstanding effort from our Year 7 students at the Wales Climate and Nature Youth Festival. There will be more opportunities for the school to get involved with from September.
