As part of a project in Miss Lang’s English lessons some of our year 8 students were asked to write to someone that they idolised or looked up to. One student chose to
write to a member of The Alarm about his music and charitable work.
We have since received a correspondence on behalf of Mike Peters, internationally acclaimed musician, cancer patient and proud Welshman. He was so impressed by the letter that he has personally invited our class to join him on part of a fundraising walk in Wrexham on Friday 16th June 2017.
The walk is in aid of the By Your Side appeal. Mike Peters will be raising money by walking 130 miles across North Wales before finishing with a hike up Snowdon, Wales’ highest mountain, on the 24th of June for the annual Snowdon Rocks event. The event aims to raise £351,120 to support Cancer care in North Wales.
