Drama students ‘Set The Bar’ high

Myself, Caitlin Jones, Harry Bostwick and Joshua Jones recently performed a one-act-play about two homeless ladies looking for something to eat and somewhere warm to stay.
Caitlin and I first performed this play at All Saints Church, during a service, last month, so that people would think about the plight of the homeless during the cold winter months.
On the 3rd of this month, we performed the play again on a Saturday afternoon in the town centre at Set The Bar.
This was at an all-day event for poets, musicians and singers, and we were the youngest performers there. We may have been the youngest performers but we were the best supported, as parents and Clywedog students past and present turned out to support us.
The Set The Bar version was noticeably
longer than the All Saints Church version because we introduced two new mime characters brilliantly portrayed by Josh and Harry.
Our play was really well received and was even reported on by The Wrexham Leader’s Schools In Focus section.
We had thought that the final time we would perform this play would be at the school Drama Showcase on 22nd March. However, Mr. Witherden has now told us that we have been invited to perform our play again by both Brymbo Heritage Centre and by Theatr Clwyd.
