Erddig Estate and Minera Lead Mines Walks
Category : Events
Dear Parent/ Guardian
As part of activities week, we are organising walks for all Ysgol Clywedog students, to take place on Friday 2nd July, during the school day.
There are two walks to choose from. Both will start at school, with the first being a more challenging route passing through Nant Mill, Minera Lead Mines and Minera Quarry Nature Reserve, returning in a loop back down the Clywedog trail in time for the school buses.
The alternative is a more leisurely walk heading towards and around the Erddig estate. This will also return to school in time for the buses. Your child will be asked to choose a route in advance in order for appropriate staffing levels to be agreed.
Students will be supervised by the school staff and the walk will be conducted at a leisurely pace, to take in places of interest along the way. Students will be in their year group bubbles for each walk and toilets will be available.
The school mini-bus will be available for emergencies. Students will need a packed lunch and drinks for the day. All those students on free school meals will be provided with a packed lunch.
Please ensure that your child has suitable walk wear, including footwear. Your child does not need to wear school uniform, however clothing does need to be appropriate. Your child might also need sun protection and a hat. In the event of extreme weather on the day, the walk may be postponed.
It is important that you ensure the school is aware of any updated medical information regarding your child prior to Wednesday 30 June 2021.
Yours faithfully
