Girls and Boys Football Sessions

Category : Events

Dear Parent/Guardian/Student

During pre-Covid an extra-curricular programme of sports/ activities was on offer for pupils at Ysgol Clywedog to attend each week.

Due to the current guidelines & restrictions in place, the programme has not been able to run so far this term. However, in the coming weeks, after-school boys & girls’ football will be on offer to Year 7 pupils each week. Please see more details below:

– Year 7 girls only football, Tuesday’s after-school 3.15-4.00pm, starting on Tuesday 13th October

– Year 7 boys only football, Wednesday’s after-school 3.15-4.00pm, starting on Wednesday 14th October

Due to guidelines in place a maximum of 28 pupils will be allowed at each session. Pupils will be given the opportunity to sign up to the sessions beforehand in their PE classes.

If in the event of bad weather, the sessions have to be cancelled, an announcement will be made by 2pm on the school’s social media pages. We would encourage parents to arrange for pupils to have an option to be able to make their way home at 3pm in this case. If any pupils are not able to make their way home at this time, indoor provision will be made for these pupils until 4pm.

All equipment will be sanitised before & after the sessions & they will be delivered in accordance with Welsh Government guidelines.

Pupils will need to be in PE kit but can bring warm, comfortable clothing. Trainers or moulded studs must be worn.

If these sessions are successful & the guidelines allow, then hopefully sessions will be on offer to other year groups in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or queries regarding the information, please do not hesitate to e-mail me: Robert.darlington@wrexham.gov.uk

Yours sincerely

Robert Darlington
