Congratulations to all of year 11 on a fantastic set of GCSE Results 2021

Category : Events

We are very proud of all the hard work that our students have put into their studies over the last five years, and their maturity, resilience and perseverance in the light of unprecedented and unexpected GCSE years.

We are delighted with their achievements and wish them all the best in their future pathways: in 6th form, college, apprenticeships or work.  We know that their experiences at our school over the years have helped prepare them for the challenges and successes that lie ahead of them.

In particular this year, we recognise the achievements of Kordian Czwordon (10A*, 3A), Osian McCulloch (9A*, 2A), Ella Simons (8A*, 3A, 1B), George Jones (8A*, 3A, 1B), Megan Marsh (5A*, 7A) and Lucy Williams (5A*, 5A)

We would also like to recognise the hard work of our staff in preparing all our students for the Centre Assessed Grades and ensuring that this year’s very different processes were met.

We thank our parents, communities and governors for their support in ensuring the achievements and success of all our students.

Well done, year 11, and all the best for your future successes.

Summer Reading Challenge 1: Marcus Rashford Bookclub & Macmillan Children’s Books

Category : Events

We are excited and honoured to be collaborating with the incredible footballer, campaigner, and all-round inspiration Marcus Rashford through his Bookclub and Macmillan Children’s Books. From July 2021, we’ll be working together to get 400 brand new books to those who can’t afford or access them across the UK and Ireland.

Marcus has relentlessly campaigned and lobbied for those in need and most affected by austerity and socio-economic disparities – from free school meals to increasing access to literature. The values that underpin both the Book Club and the Free Books Campaign are closely aligned and we are so proud to be supporting his mission – to get books to young people across the UK.

Since the publication of his debut children’s book You Are a Champion, Rashford and Macmillan have donated 50,000 copies to schools across the UK – we are proud to be joining them in their campaign to get even more books out to vital youth services such as youth clubs, community centres and charities throughout Britain and Ireland.

All books are generously donated by Macmillan Children’s.

If students click on the link below they can register for a free book.
