School Wider-opening Survey – Parent/Carer

Category : Events

Dear Parents/Carers

As you will probably now be aware, the Welsh Government has shared its intention to widen the opening of schools from Monday 29th June. Whilst this will not be a return to school as we knew it – with considerably less students on site each day, we are excited about the opportunity to see our students again and have been planning for this eventuality over previous weeks. This is to ensure that the health and safety, and well being of students and staff remains a priority. As you can imagine, there are a lot of practicalities to consider and detail of the Minister for Education’s plan is as yet fully unknown, but please rest assured that we will communicate all relevant information to you as soon as we are able.

Understandably some parents / carers, students and staff will have concerns over a physical return to the building from the end of June, and we will do our very best to dispel any anxiety as we translate national guidance into reality in a way which seeks to reassure everyone of our absolute commitment to maintaining the wellbeing of all members of the school family.

The purpose of reopening is to provide students with an opportunity to “Check in, Catch up and Prepare for Summer and September”. Google Classrooms will continue through this time and the time in school will be used to support the wellbeing and distance learning.

TO ASSIST US IN MAKING THE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS WE ARE ASKING PARENTS/CARERS OF CHILDREN TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY BELOW BY 12 NOON, WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE.  SURVEY LINK

In the meantime, the school is still open only for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers. We know some employers will be encouraging you to return to work, but we are not in a position right now to extend places to other children until we receive further government guidance.

We would like to thank you for your support in helping your child to learn from home, and hope you will continue with this.
