Ysgol Clywedog Virtual Christmas Concert 2020

Category : Events

Welcome to this year’s Christmas Concert. In challenging times, the students and the music department have worked very hard to put together this concert.

Year 9 have been learning the steel pans this term, and have made fantastic progress with their tutor, Paul. Here is a medley of pieces.

Well done to year 9, an amazing performance having only started learning the steel pans in the last few weeks.

Over this half term Year 7 have been focusing on voice as an instrument. We are pleased to present their performance of O Holy Night.

A fantastic performance by year 7. We are looking forward to more performances from this talented group over the next few years, hopefully live in person.

This year’s Christmas Readings are read by the Head Girl and Head Boy, Ella and Alex.

Thank you to Ella and Alex for that lovely seasonal reading.

Year 8 and 9 Music lessons have focussed on Ukuleles this term. Here are the year 8 and 9 Ukulele Groups performing Jingle Bells.

Well done year 8 and 9, again another new instrument for the students who pave picked it up brilliantly.

Our next performance this morning is O Holy Night, sung by Holly in year 11.

Thank you, Holly, a beautiful version of the popular Christmas carol.

We now have Year 11 GCSE Music group’s performance of Last Christmas.

Thank you and well done to the year 11 GCSE music group for ending out virtual Christmas Concert in such style.

Thank you to the students, Mrs Hughes and Mr Porter for putting together this amazing virtual concert and thank you all for attending.  We hope you all have a restful and well-deserved Christmas break.
