Important Update

Parent/Carer
In light of the new health advice from the UK government, we have a number of our staff who are having to self-isolate with family members for 14 days. This has put the school in a position where we do not have sufficient teaching staff to provide a full curriculum to all years.
At this stage of the year, our priority has to be students in years 11 and 10 who have GCSE examinations in the near future. I have therefore taken the difficult decision to operate a partial closure of the school.
The school will ONLY be open to year 11 and 10 students from 8:45am on 19th March until further notice. Students in these year groups will be expected to attend as normal and in full uniform.
Students in years 7 to 9 have access to online learning platforms (http://clywedog.org/distance-learning-programme/) and work will continue to be available through those channels.
Parents who work in the NHS, Emergency Services or other essential services may contact the school to discuss supervision to support your valuable work.
As you can imagine these matters are changing on a daily basis and we will keep you updated via our website, twitter, facebook and normal communication routes.
Thank you for your patience at this time.
Yours sincerely
Matt Vickery

18th March 2020 at 5:40 pmI am a nurse in the NHS. The PM has announced that schools will remain open for children of Essential workers. Can you provide some clarity on this please.
